Privacy policy

This policy explains what SAT Score Calculators collects, what it does not, and what third parties may do when advertising is served. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version

• There are no accounts, no logins, and no email capture anywhere on this site.
• Scores you enter into any calculator are processed in your browser. They are never transmitted to a server, because there is no server to transmit them to. Every page is a static file.
• The superscore calculator stores the sittings you add in your browser's local storage, on your device only. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
• The site remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, also in local storage.
• Google Analytics counts visits and records which pages are read. It sets cookies and sends Google the address of each page you open. It is never sent anything you type into a calculator.
• When advertising is enabled, third parties including Google may set further cookies.

Information collected directly

Nothing you type is collected. There is no contact form that posts to a server, no newsletter signup, no user account system, and nothing on this site asks you for a name, an email address or an age. If you email the address on the contact page, that email exists in a mailbox, and it is used to reply to you and for nothing else.

What is measured, by Google Analytics, is described in the next section. It is about pages rather than people, and it never includes your scores.

Local storage

Two things are stored in your browser and never leave your device:

• Your theme preference, so the site does not flash the wrong colours on load.
• Any test sittings you add to the superscore calculator.

Both are readable and deletable by you, through your browser's site data settings. They are not cookies, are not transmitted with requests, and cannot be read by third parties.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages people actually read, which is how the next thing to write gets chosen. For each page you open it records the address of the page, the page that referred you, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device, browser and language. Google processes that information as a data processor for this site, under Google's privacy policy .

It sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_S626P6Q9W5, which exist to tell a repeat visit apart from a new one. They carry a random identifier and nothing else.

What Analytics does not receive is anything you enter. Raw scores, target scores and saved sittings are read and rendered inside your browser and are never transmitted, to Google or to anyone, so no number you type here can be tied back to you.

You can prevent all of it with Google's opt-out browser add-on , with any content blocker, or with your browser's own tracking protection. The calculators work identically either way, because they never needed the network.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. When ads are served, the following applies.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Third-party advertising cookies may be set from domains including google.com, googlesyndication.com and doubleclick.net. This site does not control those cookies, and cannot read them.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Where required, a Google-certified consent management platform is used to obtain consent before analytics cookies are set or personalised advertising is served. Users in those regions who do not consent are not counted by analytics, and are served non-personalised advertising instead. You can change your choice at any time through the consent control the platform provides.

Users under 18

Much of this site's audience is between 15 and 18. This site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Google applies additional protections to users its systems identify as under 18, including limiting ad personalisation. Content and advertising categories on this site are kept appropriate for a teenage audience.

Hosting and logs

The site is served as static files from a content delivery network. Like any web host, that provider processes standard request information such as IP address and user agent in order to deliver the page and to protect against abuse. That processing is the provider's, and this site does not receive, store or analyse those logs.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to College Board, ACT and other organisations so you can verify the data for yourself. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply once you leave.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the bottom of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
